The Front garden has been designed to compliment the Georgian front of the house and gives views of the river. It incorporates the vineyard Car Park, a Boatyard Garden and the Drive is edged with Old English Lavender.

At this point the river Medway is tidal, with pleasure boats passing by on the high tide and many water birds are seen when the water is low.

The rear walled garden is in keeping with the Tudor aspect of the back of the house and its individually linked small gardens provide interest and colour throughout the year.

The lower terrace Hop Garden, planted with hops found on the river bank.

The Japanese-Ishi garden, planted with a variety of winter flowering shrubs, giving colour from October to late spring. In the hot summer months it is a tranquil green oasis.

The Rose Walk incorporates Tudor species Roses and David Austin’s repeat flowering Roses, creating an abundance of scent and colour from May until the first frost.

The Tudor Terrace is planted with box topiary with a central standard holly tree. The pond was originally an old well and goldfish live there happily.

The potted Herb Garden and herb Island is situation close by the kitchen door, in order to aid the cook! The South facing aspect allows for Mediterranean planting with olives, grapes and an Umbrella Pine.

The Kitchen Garden, which is managed on organic principles, with extensive use of companion planting.

 At the end of a summers day, a peaceful evening by the river.
