The front garden has been
designed to enhance the Georgian front of the
house and give unlimited views of the river.
It incorporates a Vineyard Car Park, the Boat
Yard Garden and the Drive is edged with French Lavender hedges.

At
this point the River Medway is tidal, with
pleasure boats passing by on the high tide and
many water birds are seen when the water is
low.

The rear walled garden is in keeping
with the Tudor aspect of the house. It is divided into individual linked small
gardens providing interest throughtout the year.

The Kitchen Garden which is managed on organic
principles with extensive use of companion planting.

The lower terrace Hop Garden, planted
with hops found on the river bank.

The Japanese-Ishi garden, planted with a variety of winter
flowering shrubs, givining colour from October to late spring. In the hot summer
months it is a tranquil green oasis.

|
The Rose Walk incorporates Tudor and French shrub roses
growing amongst herbacious plants to create abundant colour from May to October
|

The Tudor Terrace is planted with box topiary with a central
standard holly tree . The pond was originally an old well and goldfish live
there happily.

|
The potted Herb Garden and Herb Island are situated close by
the kitchen door. Given the southfacing aspect, Meditteranian plants thrive
here and amongst the herbs there are olives, bay and hibiscus.
